Adv. Assaf Benmelech began his legal career as an intern for the State Attorney, Edna Arbel. Following his admission to the Bar, he practiced High-Tech law at a leading firm for approximately two years, after which he decided to focus on litigation. Since then, he has developed expertise in managing complex commercial litigation cases across a wide range of fields. His experience includes representing Venture Capital funds (such as JVP, Aleph, and Infinity Ventures), shareholders, high-tech companies, industrial companies (such as Teva and Koffolk), and international conglomerates (such as the Electrolux Group and ADVA Optical Networking) in legal and international proceedings.
Adv. Benmelech possesses unique expertise and extensive experience in managing complex Real Estate claims. He manages high-stakes and large-scale cases in the field, including intricate disputes between developers, deep-seated conflicts within purchasing groups and disputes between contractors and entrepreneurs.
Adv. Benmelech specializes in analyzing risks versus legal opportunities and manages his cases with a precision-driven strategy aimed at minimizing exposure on the one hand, and achieving decisive rulings on the other.
Alongside representation in courts, Adv. Benmelech leads complex commercial arbitrations, including International Arbitration. He serves as an arbitrator and is a member of the arbitration panels of the Israeli Institute of Commercial Arbitration and the Israel Bar Association. His professional capabilities and broad perspective, derived from his cross-disciplinary expertise, enable him to craft high-level representation and evidence management strategies for his clients.
Adv. Benmelech is also an expert in Public Law. He serves as Legal Counsel to the Tzohar rabbinical organization and the Sam Spiegel Film & Television School, and has represented significant figures in Israeli public life in constitutional petitions of immense public importance.
In the field of Environmental Protection, Adv. Benmelech has acquired expertise representing and advising industrial companies such as Teva Pharmaceutical Industries and Koffolk.
Adv. Benmelech is also entrusted with representation in sensitive proceedings regarding Family Wealth and Property, including establishing and managing trusts, drafting shareholder agreements and wills, estate management and distribution, and representing clients in ensuing legal proceedings.
In early 2021, Adv. Benmelech joined his partner, Adv. Uri Corb, together with five additional attorneys, merging the litigation and white-collar departments to establish the firm in its new format – Ben Zur, Corb & Co.
